Welcome to the Chester Artists Association

The Chester Artists Association was founded on September 18, 2009 to provide programs, trips, enhance artistic learning and provide social time for artists in the Chester, Virginia area.

Janet Visser, BFA, is an accomplished multidisciplinary artist and instructor. Her highly imaginative figurative and abstracts works stimulate curiosity, provoke thought, and encourage further inspection. A rhythmic synthesis of drawing, painting, and collage, Visser's visually tactile mixed-media work is composed to create a new reality with an expressive symbolic arrangement. The artist's expansive visual knowledge and innovative use of alternative materials create a multi-sensual experience for the viewer. Visser's work is exhibited nationally and internationally in galleries and universities, as well being represented in corporations and private collections. To contact: email

The Chester Artists Association is a committee of the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation. In January of 2002, a group of Chester citizens decided to renew the task of building an Arts Center in Chester. "Building communities through the arts truly enhances our quality of life." This effort, which was first undertaken a decade ago, is built upon work, explorations, and disscussions with citizens, community groups and members of the County government. The Arts Center will be built on County land adjacent to the Chester Library. The Foundation, in partnership with the County, will bring cultural arts to Chesterfield County and our surrounding communitites.
Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. All donation are tax deductible.
